Gym Companion is built on a simple principle: your workout data is yours. We collect only what the app needs to function and never use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.
What we collect
Gym Companion stores the following data on your device:
- Exercises you add or create, routines you build, and workout sessions you log
- Sets, weights, and rep counts you enter
- App preferences and settings
If you grant permission, the app reads your body weight and height from Apple Health to estimate the calories burned in a workout. It reads nothing else from Health, and no health data is transmitted to our servers.
If you purchase Pro, Apple's StoreKit processes the transaction. We receive only a confirmation of your purchase status — no payment details or billing information are stored by us.
How your data is stored
Workout data is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If iCloud is enabled for Gym Companion on your device, your data is also synced via Apple CloudKit to your personal iCloud account so it stays in sync across your devices. This sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to data stored in your iCloud account.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Gym Companion schedules local reminders on your device — for example to remind you to finish a routine you left running. These notifications are created and delivered on your device; no data is sent to us or any third party.
What the app doesn't do
- The app does not include any analytics or crash-reporting SDKs
- We do not serve advertising
- We do not sell or share your data with any third party
- We do not require you to create an account
- We do not track you across apps or websites
Third-party services
Gym Companion integrates with the following Apple frameworks, each governed by Apple's own privacy policy:
- Apple HealthKit — with your explicit permission: read access to body weight and height, and (Pro, when Apple Health export is enabled) write access to save completed workouts to Apple Health
- Apple CloudKit — iCloud sync, stored in your personal iCloud account
- Apple StoreKit — in-app purchase processing for the Pro upgrade
- Apple UserNotifications — local reminders, with your permission
The app does not use any other third-party SDKs or services.
This website
When you contact us through the support form, we receive the name, email address and message you enter, and use them only to answer you. To keep spam out, your browser solves a short computational puzzle (ALTCHA) before the form is sent. It runs on our own server — no third-party service and no cookies.
Website analytics
With your permission, this website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it — for example which pages are viewed and roughly where visits come from. Nothing is sent to Google until you accept "Statistics" in the cookie banner; if you reject it, no analytics cookies are set, and withdrawing consent later deletes them. Google's advertising features are switched off. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. The Gym Companion app itself does not use Google Analytics.

Your rights & data deletion
You are in full control of your data at all times:
- Delete local data — delete the app from your device to remove all locally stored data
- Delete iCloud data — go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Gym Companion, then delete the data
- Revoke Health access — go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Gym Companion
- Turn off reminders — go to Settings → Notifications → Gym Companion
Children's privacy
Gym Companion is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
