Your gym workouts, in Apple Health.
With Gym Companion Pro, every workout you finish is saved to Apple Health automatically — as a strength-training workout with its duration and estimated active energy, so it counts toward your Activity rings.
What gets saved to Apple Health?
One Health workout for each Gym Companion workout — written once, never duplicated.
| In Apple Health | Comes from |
|---|---|
| Workout type | Traditional Strength Training (Mixed Cardio for cardio sessions) |
| Start and end time | Your first logged set, and when the workout ended |
| Active energy | Estimated from duration and your body weight in Health |
| Source | Shown as "Gym Companion" |
Sets, reps and weights stay in Gym Companion — Apple Health has no place for them.

Apple Health — frequently asked questions
Does Gym Companion sync with Apple Health?
Yes — with Gym Companion Pro. Every finished workout is saved to Apple Health as a workout with its start time, duration and estimated active energy, so it counts toward your Activity rings.
What does Gym Companion write to Apple Health?
One workout per Gym Companion session: the activity type (Traditional Strength Training, or Mixed Cardio for cardio sessions), start and end time, and estimated active energy when your body weight is available in Health. Individual sets are not written.
Does Gym Companion read my Health data?
Only your body weight and height, with your permission, to estimate calories. Nothing is sent to us — see the privacy policy.
A workout didn't show up in Health — what do I do?
Check that Pro is unlocked and that Gym Companion may write workouts (Health app → your profile → Apps and Services → Gym Companion). Then pull down on the Workouts list in the app to retry any workouts that haven't synced yet. The app also retries automatically when you open it.
How do I turn Apple Health sync off?
iOS doesn't let apps remove their own Health permission. Open the Health app → your profile → Apps and Services → Gym Companion and turn off Workouts.
